女性と頭痛
女性の頭痛に女性ホルモンが大きく関与していることが以前からしられています。
片頭痛は、20代から40代の女性がおおいのです。特にエストロゲンの変動重要です。エストロゲンが減少すると、頭蓋内の血管が拡張し、片頭痛が生じやすいのです。
月経周期の中で、エストロゲンが減少するのは、月経初日や排卵日です。
この時期に片頭痛が頻発しましう。月経前―月経中に起こる片頭痛は、他の時期におこる発作に比べ、痛みが強く、持続時間が長く、再燃しやすいなどの特徴がしられていて、市販の鎮痛剤があまり効かないことも多いのです。
